Pacman is more recognizable as the yellow faced friendly ghost who has captured the imagination of millions of game lovers all over the world ever since its inception in 1980. While earlier, the arena of computer games was largely dominated by games such as Star Wars and Asteroids which were one-track games focusing on the same strategies. Thus, for people searching for a new kind of game, Pacman provided an answer. After its tremendous popularity in Japan, it spread like wildfire to the other parts of the world. The interesting fact about Pacman games is that it was a huge success with women, whereas the earlier games were purely male dominated.
